Sherry Saunders joins Direct Travel as SVP, Client Management

Direct Travel, Inc. has selected industry veteran Sherry Saunders to lead the account management teams for its Eastern and Western regions of Canada.

Saunders will serve as Senior Vice President, Client Management and will focus on client services, loyalty and strategy, managing a diverse portfolio of Canadian and global accounts for one of the largest management companies in trips to North America.

“We are thrilled to welcome a respected industry professional like Sherry to the team,” said Brian Robertson, President of Canada West Region, Direct Travel. “She is well known not only in Canada, but also in the world of business travel for her ability to meet customer expectations and deliver real business results.”

Saunders made a name for herself in the industry as Vice President of Operations for Navigant Travel, prior to its acquisition by CWT. She continued to hold leadership positions with CWT for over 15 years, most recently serving as Senior Vice President and General Manager of CWT Canada, US East and North American Leisure. She was also president of the Canadian Business Travel Association.

“Sherry’s extensive experience makes her uniquely qualified to take on this new role and lead the efforts of our account management teams across Canada,” said Joel Ostrov, President of Canada East Region, Direct Travel. “By combining our teams in the East and West regions under his leadership, we will be better positioned to serve our customers in all markets.”

Saunders joins the company as it streamlines operations between its East and West regions in preparation for future growth, fueled in part by the global easing of travel restrictions.

“I’m honored to join a top-notch TMC at such a pivotal time for travel,” Saunders said. “I hold in high esteem the many Direct Travel colleagues I have worked with in the past, and look forward to introducing myself to the rest of the team. Together, we will show our uncompromising commitment to every customer we serve.
